Your RV can have water, electric, and sewer hook-ups. We also have sites that offer a lovely view of our private lake, Lake Serene. If you aren’t about roughing it out but still want to enjoy the other things that come along with camping, Old Forge Camping Resort’s cottages are the thing for you! These heated cottages consist of two rooms that can fit six people: there’s a kitchen and a bathroom right in the cottage. You, your friends, and family comfortably “glamp” for the weekend. If you aren’t going with as many people, Old Forge Camping Resort offers a one-room cabin that fits 4 people. Our cabins do come with heat and two electrical outlets. All Old Forge Camping Resort’s sites come with a picnic table and fire circle. Thing You Must do if You’re Camping at Old Forge Camping Resort Besides sitting around the campfire, another fun thing you can do is go to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari. It is the largest water theme park in New York. It’s definitely a must go to if you are in the area. With over 50 rides and attractions, it’s a place where no matter your age you will have a good time. Calypso’s Cove is also a great place to bring your whole family. This family fun center has everything from ziplining, go-karts, and bumper boats. If that wasn’t enough reason to go, they have an Adirondack Rock Climbing Wall, batting cages, a state-of-the-art arcade & prize redemption center, and a snack bar! There are so many things to do at Calypso’s Cove, the whole family will enjoy it! If you’re looking to get some hiking in, there are plenty of beautiful mountains in the area. If you have never hiked a mountain, the perfect mountain for you is Bald Mountain. It’s a great beginner mountain and the view when you get on top is unbelievable. This is also an activity that the whole family can do together because it’s only a 2-mile round-trip hike. When you finally reach the top, there is a fire tower that you can climb to get a bird’s eye view of the Fulton Chain of Lakes. Adirondack River Outfitters is New York State’s leading whitewater rafting company, making it a must-do when you are in the area! Whitewater rafting with your family on the Black River gorge is an experience you won’t want to miss! Camping Food Hacks We must end on the most important thing, food hacks! One cool hack is putting pancake mix in an old ketchup bottle. It makes cooking pancakes even simpler! A yummy treat you can make is a campfire cone. It is an ice cream cone that is filled with marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, caramel sauce, and chocolate. Then you wrap the cones in tin foil and place it on the grill or campfire for about 3-5 minutes and enjoy! Most people just think about marshmallows on a stick when they think about campfires, but what about cinnamon rolls on a stick! It’s a super easy breakfast that everyone will love! All you have to do is put the premade cinnamon roll on a stick and cook it above the campfire for about 15-20 minutes. Another neat way you can cook a cinnamon roll is in an orange. It cooks the cinnamon roll perfectly and you get a little orange flavor as well! Lastly, my personal favorite is campfire nachos! It’s a super easy thing to make and a crowd favorite. All you have to do is layer a pan with chips, cheese, olives, green onions, and you keep repeating until you have three layers. Just put the pan over the campfire for about 10-15 minutes and you have some amazing nachos!
