Insider Tips What is Splash Cash? Splash Cash is a convenient way to carry your money without worrying about keeping track of your wallet or cash. Simply load money onto a card or waterproof wristband to be used towards any purchase or service at the Water’s Edge Inn, Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Calypso’s Cove or the Old Forge Camping Resort. There are no hidden fees or service charge. You can purchase splash cash online by clicking here or at the Front Desk. Do you offer discount tickets to Calypso’s Cove? Yes, we do offer discounted tickets to Calypso’s Cove to our registered guests. Unlimited Attractions are sold in 2-hour increments. Big savings! How far is Calypso’s Cove from the campground? Calypso’s Cove is located about 1/4 mile down the rode from us and is located directly next door to Enchanted Forest Water Safari. They are open daily, mid-June through Labor Day and offer a variety of attractions, as well as a state-of-the-art arcade and snack bar. See all of what Calypso’s Cove has to offer here. How far in advance do I need to make a reservation? We accept reservations up to one year in advance. We require the first night’s deposit to secure your reservation at the time of booking. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or you may send in a Money Order. Sorry, but no personal checks are accepted. Do I need a reservation to stay at your campground? Reservations are suggested as our sites book quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. We do welcome walk-ins and do our best to accommodate them depending on availability. Can I request a specific site at the Old Forge Camping Resort? You may request a specific site number by making a Premium Reservation and we will guarantee the site of your choice for an additional non-refundable fee. If there is a maintenance issue with the site you have requested and we are unable to place you there, your Premium fee will be refunded and we will place you on a comparable site. We will make every effort to note your site preference, but WE CANNOT GUARANTEE SPECIFIC SITES WITHOUT BOOKING A PREMIUM RESERVATION. Stays of 1-3 days $10.00, 4-7 days $20.00 and 8-14 days $30.00. What is your cancellation policy? Yes, 7 days advance notice is required for changes or cancellation to a reservation.Fees are dependent on length of stay and will incur the following charges at any time. 1-3 days $5.00, 4-7 days $10.00 and 8-14 days $15.00. (FOR STAY ‘N PLAY PACKAGES, YOU WILL RECEIVE A REFUND FOR CAMPING LESS THE RELEVANT FEE, BUT YOUR TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND GOOD FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON IN WHICH THEY ARE ORDERED). If cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival, the deposit is forfeited along with any incurred reservation fees. How many nights can I make my reservation for? The allowed maximum length of a reservation is 14 nights. What time is check in? What time is check out? Check-in is after 2pm daily. Early check-ins are based upon availability and we cannot guarantee that your site will be ready before 2pm, especially during our busy summer season. Check out is promptly at 11am. Are pets allowed at the Old Forge Camping Resort? Yes, we gladly welcome domestic pets. They must never be left unattended at the campsite, always kept on a leash on the campgrounds, and most importantly cleaned up after. It is always a good idea to bring your pet’s vaccination records. How many people are allowed per campsite? We have a 6 person and two vehicle maximum per campsite. If you have more than 6 people, you must rent another site,we have additional parking options for more than 2 vehicles. All of our rates are based upon 2 people and the additional charges for ages 12 and up are $7/night and children 3-11 are $5/ night. Can I put a tent on a Cabin, Cottage or RV site? Tents can be put up on cabin and RV sites as long as there is no more than 6 people maximum (regardless of age) on the site. Any tents that are put up on any site other than a designated tent site must be secured with PLASTIC stakes only, due to the electric and propane lines underground. Tents are NOT allowed on cottage sites. What should we bring with us if we are staying in a Cottage? You should bring all of your kitchenware, pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, and all of your bedding. Cottages come equipped with 2 double beds and a single bunk above each double. Bring your sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, etc. What should we bring with us if we are staying in a Cabin? Each cabin comes equipped with a double bed and a set of single bunk beds. You must bring all of your bedding, sheets, towels, pillows, sleeping bags, etc. It’s like camping with a roof over your head. Are there any bathroom/shower/water/kitchen facilities in the Cabins? Cabins do not have any facilities. You would have to walk to one of our 7 centrally located bathroom and shower facilities located throughout the campground. Five of the seven restroom and shower facilities have a Camp Kitchen equipped with a stovetop and sink available during the summer months. Are there air-conditioners in the Cabins or Cottages? No, there are no air conditioners in the Cabins or Cottages. Our cool Adirondack nights provide for a comfortable night’s sleep, or you may bring a fan if you wish. Do you allow air conditioners on the RV sites? Due to our electric supply, air conditioners and electric heaters are not permitted. You may run A/C from your own generator between the hours of 8am and 10pm. Are there TV`s or Phones in the Cabins or Cottages? Our cabins and cottages are not equipped with telephones or televisions. We do offer TV /DVD player rentals for a nominal fee. Are the campsites private, in open areas or wooded? Our campground is located on 130 acres of woodland setting that allows for semi-private, partially sunny, and shaded sites. How far is the Old Forge Camping Resort from the Enchanted Forest Water Safari? We are just 1/2 mile up the road from the park. It’s a short 10 – 15 minute walk on a direct path or we offer a free shuttle bus. Do you offer discounted tickets to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari? Yes! Discounted tickets are always available to registered guests staying at the Old Forge Camping Resort. Do you offer any packages that include admission to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari? Stay & Play packages are available for any site type EXCEPT Cottages. You can view pricing on the website under “Specials & Packages”, or give us a call at 315-369-6011. Our Cottage guests are still able to purchase discounted tickets. If I enter after 3pm, do I get the next day free? Arrive after 3:00pm (2:00pm on days we’re open 10am until 4pm, 5pm, 5:30pm) and pay admission, you will receive a Siesta Pass valid for re-admission any one day during the current operating season. Not valid when redeeming a Siesta Pass. Is there a shuttle to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari? Yes, we offer a FREE shuttle that goes between the campground and the waterpark every hour during the summer. What is there for kids to do at the Campground? We have 2 playgrounds and you may bring bikes for the kids to ride in the campground. Helmets are required for children under 14, but suggested for all. We have a nature trail that is great for the family to take a short hike together and view the wildlife of the Adirondacks. We have an arcade full of games and prizes to win and check out the Tie Dye station at Lake Serene Rentals! Is there a swimming pool at your Campground? We do not have a swimming pool but we have our small private Lake Serene that has a family beach area for swimming. Is fishing allowed in Lake Serene and do I need a license? Catch & release fishing is allowed in our lake and no license is required. We stock our lake with small mouth bass and blue gill fish. Are boats allowed on the lake at your Campground? We do not allow motorized boats on our lake. You are welcome to bring your own paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes or rent them at Lake Serene Rentals. Do you offer bike rentals? We do not offer bike rentals on premises, however they are available at a few sporting shops in town. Do you have wildlife in your Campground? Yes, we do get occasional visits from our furry friends! Part of the beauty of the Adirondacks is observing the wonderful wildlife that makes your visit a memorable one. Can I have a fire at your Campground? You sure can! Every site comes complete with a fire-circle for your marshmallow roasting pleasure. Are there grills at the Campground? There are charcoal grills outside the cottages only. All other sites come equipped with a fire circle and a picnic table. You could bring a small grill with you, or you may purchase a grill top from our camp store to place over your fire circle. Is there a store on the Premises? Yes, we have a Camp Store right in the Main Lodge that carries a variety of camping supplies, souvenirs, and basic grocery items. If you forgot it, we probably carry it. Do you offer internet and cable hookup? Sites are not equipped with Cable or Wifi, but we have a WIFI hotspot in and around the Main Lodge. We also offer free satellite TV in the family lounge located in the Main Lodge. Do you allow All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s) or Golf Carts on the campground? We do not allow personal ATVs or golf carts. Golf carts are available to rent during your stay by calling the campground to reserve. Do you offer any camping discounts? We do not offer AAA discount, but we do have a loyalty Camper Card. The cost is $10.00 and you receive a 2 year membership with 10% off your total stay for any camping trips within the 2 years. The Camper Card is valid for all site types EXCEPT Cottages. There are no weekly rates, however we do offer lower nightly rates during our Value Seasons in the Fall, Winter & Spring. Does the Campground offer Gift Cards? Yes! We offer gift cards in the form of Splash Cash. Even in the Winter for nightly or seasonal rentals. Spend your Winter Season with us! Are the Cabins and Cottages heated? Yes! All Cabins and Cottages are equipped with thermostat controlled propane heaters, you can stay warm and cozy all season! Is water available on the RV sites during Winter? From mid-October through late April, the RV sites electric hook-ups only. There is no water or sewer during this time, but we have 7 heated bathrooms open around the campground year round 24/7. Is the Campground plowed in the Winter? Yes, our Grounds Crew work hard all Winter Season to keep the roads safe and accessible. We plow to leave enough snow on the roads so that our snowmobiling guests can access the trails easily. How do I get the trails from the Campground? Campers can ride the 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails with direct access from the campground to Trail 5. Is a permit required to ride on the trails? Yes you do need to purchase a permit to ride the trails. We have them available to purchase at the Main Lodge to our registered guests. Do you offer snowmobile rentals? We do not offer rentals from the Campground, but several local area businesses do and we will be happy to provide you details. Is gas available for purchase? During our winter season, we offer premium octane gas during lodge hours on-site for our snowmobiling guests. Feel free to fill up your sled here before hitting the surrounding trails. Gas is also available any time during the snowmobiling season, all days of the week, next door at Enchanted Gas. What if someone needs to get in touch with me while I am staying at your Campground? If someone should call to leave a message, it will be posted on the camper message board outside the Main Lodge. If the message is an emergency, it will be delivered to your site,
